DiLorca's Blood Wedding in Ramallah

Altho the play was spoken in Arabic the story was clear: pained love, jealousy, violence, heart break and death. Thru dance, pantomime, music, dramatic light effects and mysterious beings weaving thru the play, emotions resonated. Children from the Freedom Theater of Jenin (made somewhat famous thru the video, Arna's Children) were bussed in for the play. Many were stopped at a checkpoint, several arrested. We waited one hour for their arrival. At the Al-Kasaba Theater, by a resident company.
