Observations of a people in turmoil

Blog

In April 2007, raw sewage flowed thru a breach in a holding lagoon, flooding a Beduoin village near Gaza's northern border with Israel. Some 5 persons were killed, many were injured, homes were ruined. Israel has prevented the entry of building materials. This area is a favored site for Palestinian militants launching home made rockets into Israel. The album begins with photos made in January 2008, followed by photos made in late April by Bashar Ashour of the Palestinian Hydrology Group, followed again by photos by Ehab Zaeem also of the PHG. Other regions of Gaza currently face similar threats. With special thanks to Bashar Ashour of the Palestinian Hydrology Group.
