Manhattan Sojourn—1: Around Ground Zero & Occupy Wall Street
I am now sorting thru my recent photos and the few movies I made in NYC. The hip pocket portraits are the best of the lot; perhaps they transcend much of what I’ve done before in this genre. If this is so, a partial reason might be the location: Ground Zero, aka World Trade Center, aka 911 Memorial. I show people as they notice or don’t notice where they are, to them perhaps their sacred location. Is this what registers on faces? A perplexion? A series of questions? The unanswered question?
