Feb 13, 1965 to Sep 14, 1992 Born February 13, 1965, Susan “Su” Taraskiewicz grew up with her brother and sister in Saugus, MA. Creative and athletic throughout high school, Su went on to Salem State College, North Shore Community College, and then MA College of Art. Ignoring gender stereotypes, Su worked as Ground Crew Supervisor at Northwest Airlines in Boston before receiving high marks on the Fire Fighter Placement exam, which positioned her eighth on the reserve list for the Swamscott, MA Fire Department. Su’s opportunities (along with her love for roller-skating and the cartoon character “Snoopy”) ended suddenly when she was just 27 years old. Working the night shift at Northwest, Su left at 1AM to get sandwiches for her co-workers. She was later discovered on Route 1A in Revere, MA, murdered in the trunk of her car. Despite ongoing efforts by both her family and detectives, Su’s case remains unsolved. Those fortunate enough to know Su will not soon forget her smile and golden heart.
