Deir Yassin, the site of a major massacre during the Nakba, where the Irgun and other Israeli military units massacred between 100 and 250 residents. Well documented, a continuing marker in the founding of the state, the destroyed village of Deir Yassin lies within sight of Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial and Education Center.
