Born in 1933, 15 years old during the Nakba, Israeli militia raided Saeed Dandan's village (Terit Dandan) near Lydd/Lod on the third day of Ramadan. The villagers were about to harvest their corn, but were compelled to flee; he left his sheep behind and never retrieved them. During our interview local boys and young men constantly streamed thru the store to visit or work for him. Later his daughter joined us to fill out his story.
