Next steps for the Levant project

Rabbis for Human Rights helping with the olive harvest in Jayyous, Palestine, November 2004

From September 2004 thru January 2005, I volunteered as a photographer for various organizations in Palestine and Israel. I was first based at Birzeit University in September and October, then Friends School in Ramallah which allowed me free access to photograph and helped with logistic help and a residence. For the remaining three months I photographed for Ecumenical Accompaniers for Peace in Palestine & Israel, the Gaza Community Mental Health Center which is doing such courageous and vital work with people suffering from trauma, a youth program of the American Friends Service Committee, also in Gaza, Holy Land Trust, Christian Peacemakers Team in Hebron, Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions, Parents Circle-Families Forum and Rabbis for Human Rights, boldly enacting Judaic social justice principles.
