These are really haunting images, Skip. Stark and spare. Long abandoned -- "Cotton" buildings, phone "booth," a golden shed and chalky porch. Quite unforgettable and timeless. The symmetry of your shots gives a kind of grandeur that catches the sense of human enterprise and energy now ended. Enveloped in stillness.


Are those fireworks in Aiken?


Such a beautiful pond, and trees looking so like South Carolina, with their tall trunks reaching for the sun.


The grand ladies riding through the woods.


I want to look at these again and again.
